OUR BACKGROUND

Brian Brilliant and Greg Mumford have nearly 50 years
combined direct marketing experience in business-to-consumer,
business-to-business and not-for-profit.

  Brian Brilliant

After graduating from the University of Arizona, Brian began his professional
career working as an associate for Greg Stevens & Company, a media and
public affairs firm. Since then, he's worked in the direct marketing industry
for more than twelve years. Over that time, Brian is credited with developing
and managing several Echo and Maxi award-winning campaigns. In addition,
Brian brings a unique understanding of strategic planning, creative decision-making
and data analysis to the development of multi-channel marketing campaigns.

Brian is active in several organizations in the direct marketing community
including the Direct Marketing Association, Direct Marketing Fundraisers
Association, Direct Marketing Association of Washington and the Association
of Fundraising Professionals. He's also involved in the key executive training
program of Vistage International.

Over the course of his marketing career, he's become a recognized leader
in his field. Brian conducts lectures at The Leadership Institute, publishes
industry articles and participates in roundtable discussions.

Before joining BMD in 1997, Brian began his direct marketing career at
The Delta Group and American Target Advertising. During his career,
he has assisted companies and organizations including GEICO, the
National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, The Weekly
Standard and The Nicole Brown Simpson Legislative Action Fund.

He enjoys running and golf in his spare time. Brian's an active advocate for
children; volunteering for the Greater Washington D.C. Cares, Children's
Rights Council and coaching Little League baseball and basketball for
disadvantaged youth.

  Greg Munford

After a brief stint as a musician (culminating in a million-selling gold rock &
roll record in the 1960s) and receiving a graduate degree at the University of
Chicago, Greg began his career in the mid 1970s as a copywriter for
Marsteller Advertising, based in Chicago (the 19th largest ad agency in the
world at the time). After working as head writer at the Maxwell Sroge, the
renowned Chicago-based catalog and direct marketing agency, he came to
Washington where he worked for Stephen Winchell and Associates and the
Viguerie Company. In 1984, he went out on his own as a direct marketing
freelance copywriter and creative consultant doing non-profit, political, retail
and business-to-business direct marketing. Greg worked for nearly 20 years
as a top freelance direct mail copywriter and strategic consultant for such
wide-ranging national clients as Time Life Books, the Epilepsy Foundation,
the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Republican National
Committee, and Writer's Digest.

In 1998, driven by the observation that most "full service" direct marketing
agencies were not adequately addressing the deep changes going on in the
non-profit marketplace, Greg launched BMD with one employee and an
annual mail output of 1.3 million pieces. Today, his agency has a staff of 20,
an annual mail output of over 100 million pieces, and a select roster of clients
who are thriving and growing in this climate of shrinking budgets, files, and
horizons.
